Counter-Extremism Center in Makhachkala comes under mortar fire
MAKHACHKALA. Aug 1 (Interfax) - A building in Makhachkala that houses the Counter-Extremism Center of Dagestan's Interior Ministry became the target of a mortar attack on Friday morning, a spokesman for the republic's law enforcement agencies told Interfax.
"At around 9:45 a.m., an unknown person fired a mortar in the direction of the building where the Counter-Extremism Center is located. The shell exploded just several meters from the building. An investigation is under way. There have been no reports on deaths or injuries so far," the spokesman said.
Interfax has so far been unable to obtain official confirmation of the report.
