Georgian prosecutor's office requests court sanction to detain Saakashvili
TBILISI. August 1 (Interfax) - The Georgian Prosecutor General's Office has submitted to the Tbilisi city court a request to detain former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili.
The prosecutor's office has already sent relevant documents to the court, the Tbilisi city court told reporters on Friday.
The court hearing on the prosecutors' request is scheduled for 7 p.m. Moscow time.
The Georgian Prosecutor General's Office started criminal prosecution of Saakashvili on several criminal cases being probed on July 28.
