Dobrolet Airlines suspends flights due to EU sanctions - company
MOSCOW. Aug 3 (Interfax) - Dobrolet Airlines, Aeroflot 's 100% subsidiary, will suspend flights starting 00:00 Moscow time on August 4 over sanctions introduced by the European Union, the company has announced.
"In connection with the economic sanctions, introduced by the EU against Dobrolet, some of the European counteragents have backtracked on their obligations, saying that the lease contract and agreements on Dobrolet Airlines' technical maintenance and insurance, and on air navigation information exchanges have been annulled . In conditions of unprecedented pressure coming from the European counteragents, Dobrolet Airlines is compelled to suspend flights and ticket sale," it said.
The flight schedule at Sheremetyevo Airport indicates that the low cost air compnay's flights to Simferopol and Volgograd will be cancelled starting August 4.
The company said that passengers who have bought return ticket to Simferopol (until September 15, inclusive) and to Volgograd (until August 20l inclusive) will be switched to Orenburg Airlines, Aeroflot's other 100% subsidiary, with the date and time, entered on the tickets, to be observed.
Passengers flying to Samara, Perm, Ufa, Yekaterinburg, Surgut and Kazan will be refunded, the company said.
Reports said earlier that the EU introduced sanctions against Dobrolet on July 30. An official with the EU Council told Interfax that Dobrolet was entered on the sanctions list as it was directly involved in Crimea's integration with Russia.
