Russia boosts grain exports 240% in H1 - Rosstat

MOSCOW. Aug 20 (Interfax) - Russia exported 9.038 million tonnes of grain in the first half of 2014, 240% more than in the same period last year, Rosstat reported on Wednesday.

Exports were up 370% to 5.743 million tonnes for wheat and meslin, a wheat-rye blend, up 100% to 751,000 tonnes for barley and up 160% to 2.371 million tonnes for corn.

Rice exports declined 12.5% to 56,900 tonnes.

Russia exported 50,800 tonnes of flour in the first half, 33.8% more. Sunflower exports rose 330% to 69,900 tonnes.
