Sanctions won't affect Surgutneftegas thanks to own know-how - CEO

KHANTY-MANSIISK. Sept 10 (Interfax) - The sanctions that the EU and United States have imposed against Russia won't affect Surgutneftegas , thanks to the oil company's own technologies.

"We differ from our colleagues [other oil companies] in that we have our own drilling, well workover, production base, machine building, software and programming centers. We use our own know-how," the company's CEO, Vladimir Bogdanov, said.

Bogdanov said he thought the sanctions would stimulate the development of Russia's own industry.

He said also that if necessary, Surgutneftegas might share its know-how with other companies. "There are places where we can help colleagues," he said.
