Moscow hands over partners draft document minimizing Russia's concern over EU-Ukraine agreement - Ulyukayev
MOSCOW. Sept 10 (Interfax) - Russia has handed over to Ukraine and the European Union its draft document on the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement coming into effect, which minimizes Russia's concerns, Russian Minister of Economic Development Alexei Ulyukayev said.
"We have prepared and handed over our colleagues - Ukrainian and EU ones - a draft agreement on the association agreement coming into effect, which without amending the text - as this would complicate the position of our partners - at the same time, would allow introducing standards simultaneously with the agreement, which allow lifting our concerns," Ulyukayev said at a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and government members on Wednesday.
In particular, it concerns the refusal to introduce for some time zero tariff on 144 products, the minister said.
This proposal is in the interests of the Ukrainian economy, Putin said.
"Of course, this is so, this allows Ukrainian producer having transition time in order to adapt to new standards," Ulyukayev said.
