Russian leader comes to Minsk

MINSK. Oct 10 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, to attend a CIS summit and a session of the Inter-State Council of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC).

At their meeting, the leaders of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will sign a document to abolish the EurAsEC.

During his visit to Minsk, the Russian president will also take part in a session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which among other issues, is expected to address the Eurasian Economic Union's possible enlargement and the situation concerning the Association Agreement of Ukraine and the European Union.

The CIS summit will be attended by the presidents of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. Ukraine will be represented by its Ambassador to Belarus Mykhailo Yezhel.
