Igor Plotnitsky elected as head of Luhansk People's Republic

LUHANSK. Nov 3 (Interfax) - The acting prime minister of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic, Igor Plotnitsky, has been elected as head of the republic, chairman of the LPR Central Election Commission Sergei Kozyakov told reporters.

"With 100% of the ballots counted, candidate Igor Plotnitsky has received 63.8% of the vote, or 445,095 votes," he said.

Trade Unions Federation leader Oleg Akimov is in second place with 15.15% of the vote (105,870), LPR Health Minister Larisa Airapetyan has won 7.29% of the vote (50,930), and entrepreneur Viktor Penner 10.08% of the vote (70,446).

The public organization Peace to the Luhansk Region is leading in the self-proclaimed republic's parliamentary elections with "69.46% of the vote (485,504 votes)", Kozyakov said.

The public organizations Luhansk Economic Union and People's Union have received 22.17% of the vote and 3.85% of the vote, respectively.
