Putin to attend APEC summit in China Nov 9-11
MOSCOW. Nov 5 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will be in China on November 9-11 to attend the 22nd summit of the heads of state and government at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, the Kremlin press office said on Wednesday.
On the first day of his visit, Putin will meet with Chinese leader Xi Jinping to discuss bilateral cooperation, pressing international and regional issues and the two countries' positions on the main topics to be discussed at the upcoming APEC and G20 summits. The talks are expected to result in the signing of a number of bilateral documents.
On November 10-11, the Russian president will attend events as part of the APEC summit.
On November 10, Putin will be speaking at a special session of the APEC Business Summit about the significance of the Asia-Pacific Region for Russia. He will also attend a traditional meeting between APEC leaders and members of the Business Advisory Council.
On November 11, the summit will host plenary sessions on how to deepen regional economic integration, consolidate the inter-relatedness among the APEC economies, conduct structural reforms and assist sustainable growth in the region.
While in Beijing, Putin will also hold a number of bilateral meetings with the summit attendees.
