Putin inviting businessmen from Asia Pacific region to SPIEF

BEIJING. Nov 10 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited businessmen from the Asia Pacific region to visit the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on June 18-20.

"I would like to invite you to the next St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. It will take place on June 18-20 of next year. I hope we will continue a meaningful dialogue and enter into new and interesting large-scale projects," he said at a business summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) on cooperation between Russia and the Asia Pacific region.

Putin added that the developmental path of many Asia Pacific countries demonstrates a successful example of achieving competitive advantages. "They've taken up leading positions in the innovations sector, have substantial financial and investment resources, and even under conditions of the negative global trends of the last several years are demonstrating a good dynamic, having only slightly lowered their growth," he said.
