Inter RAO may build grid infrastructure in China

ISTANBUL. Nov 20 (Interfax) - OJSC Inter RAO has said it could build grid infrastructure in China, Ilnar Mirsiyapov, a member of the company's management board and head of the strategy and investment block, told the press.

"If we reach an agreement on the parameters and the role function of each partner suggests this, we will not rule it out," he said when asked if grid construction in China was possible.

The company owns grid assets in different countries and it built them itself, so it has the experience. Construction options and necessary volumes have not yet been determined.

Earlier it was reported that Inter RAO planned to attract Chinese partners for construction of the Erkovetsky power plant with 5-8 gigawatt capacity in Amur region. Implementation of this project depends on electricity selection guarantees from China.
