Russia's intl center for humanitarian demining to deal with IEDs - ministry
COLOMBO, Sri Lanka. Nov 27 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry is creating an international center for humanitarian demining, Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov said.
"Russian experts are going to be actively involved at the session of a working group of experts on demining due to be held this December under the Vietnamese-Indian chairmanship. The Russian Defense Ministry is creating an international center for humanitarian demining, which will focus, among other things, on improvised explosive devices (IEDs)," Antonov said at the first conference of the dialogue of defense ministers of the Southern and Southeastern Asian states in Colombo, the Sri Lankan capital, on Thursday.
Very soon Russian experts will be ready to share the information with their colleagues on how the center will be opened and will function, Antonov said.
"We are set to further develop our diverse cooperation within all expert working groups of the ADMM-Plus (the Association of Southeastern Asian Nations' Defense Minister Meeting)," Antonov said
