Moscow hopes Paris will deliver Mistral ships - top Russian diplomats
MOSCOW. Nov 28 (Interfax) - Moscow is hopeful that the French authorities will fulfill the contract to deliver Mistral-class helicopter carriers to Russia.
"We hope that this case will not have to be referred to courts. The contracts accurately regulate all aspects. And if the parties decide to take this situation to court, the judges will not have to rack their brains over this case for a long time," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Meshkov told Interfax.
However, "we would like to hope that France is a reliable supplier and will honor its commitments," he added.
"But if these obligations are not fulfilled, the contract contains certain arrangements that protect Russia as the customer. We are convinced that we will be able to resolve all emerging issues as part of these arrangements," the high-ranking Russian diplomat said.
