Putin: Russia-Turkey free trade deal achievable

ANKARA. Dec 1 (Interfax) - A free trade deal between Russia and Turkey is an attainable goal, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday.

"Today our ministers of economic development have been signing documents and holding negotiations about what conditions should be created for further increasing trade between the two countries and about what else can be done to be ready to sign a treaty on a free trade area," Putin said at a joint news conference in Ankara with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"It isn't an easy task to achieve such a regime of trade relations, but it is feasible," Putin said.

"There already are large reserves in fields that haven't been worked through properly, and so far, unfortunately, there are some bureaucratic hurdles, for the Russian side as well," he said.
