Inter RAO to switch to long-term deals with Bashneft amid steam price liberalization
NIZHNEVARTOVSK. Dec 15 (Interfax) - OJSC Inter RAO plans to discuss steam deliveries to OJSC Bashneft on long-term free contracts, Yevgeny Miroshnichenko, the head of the company's strategic development department, said.
"It is important to switch to long-term interaction. Where there is a chance of doing this with an agreement - we will strive to do so. This will mainly involve Bashkir fuel and energy companies and Bashneft. They strongly rely on us for thermal energy," he said.
As part of Russia's new thermal energy market model, steam prices are to be liberalized for industry. Companies can discuss supplies and prices within the framework of long-term free contracts.
In accordance with federal law number 404 of December 1 2014, as of January 1 2018 there will be a complete elimination of regulated prices for steam and collector consumers. As of January 1 2015, prices will no longer be regulated in thermal energy for steam and collector consumers, with the exception of retail customers, with some restrictions.
