Azeri leader, BP chief exec upbeat about cooperation

BAKU. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Azeri President Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday met with the chief executive of the BP oil company, Bob Dudley.

Aliyev and Dudley stressed "successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and the BP company," the Azeri president's office said in a statement.

"Satisfaction was expressed with work at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli oil field complex and Shah Deniz gas field," it said. It was also mentioned at the meeting that the construction of the Southern Gas Corridor pipeline system, begun in September, was going on "successfully."

"Confidence was expressed that cooperation under this project between the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic and BP would continue successfully," the office said.

"The meeting also included an exchange of opinions on cooperation prospects," it said.
