Russian railways haul 1.4% less freight in 2014
MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - Russia's railways carried 1.373 billion tonnes of freight in 2014, 1.4% less than in 2013, rail monopoly Russian Railways (RZD) said in materials, seen by Interfax.
Domestic shipments fell 2.2% to 818.9 million tonnes while exports grew 4.2% to 423.75 million tonnes. Imports fell 8.2% to 105.76 million tonnes and transit fell 26.1% to 24.2 million tonnes.
