UMMC's Aircraft Industries to up plane output to 18 in 2015 from 16
YEKATERINBURG. Jan 16 (Interfax) - Aircraft Industries, which is based in the Czech Republic and wholly-owned by Urals Mining and Metals Company (UMMC), produced 16 airplanes in 2014, Aircraft Industries' CEO Ilona Plshkova is quoted in a UMMC statement as saying.
"Last year we produced 16 airplanes. An increase to 18 units is planned for this year. Because of this, we will need at least 77 new staff members, while around 1,000 specialists already work at the company currently," she said.
The statement says that Czech Industry and Trade Minister Jan Mladek, who visited UMMC's plant in January, promised that in an effort to strengthen the positions of aviation enterprises on the international market, the Czech government would aim to support them as much as possible.
Commenting on the difficulties with selecting qualified staff, Mladek added that Czech leadership was already considering ways to provide support. One method would be providing workers with professional internships abroad.
