All S. Ossetian people want to be part of Russia - speaker

TSKHINVALI. Feb 7 (Interfax) - Anatoly Bibilov, the South Ossetian parliamentary speaker and leader of the parliamentary majority party United Ossetia, calls for South Ossetia's full integration into Russia.

"Our people, all of us are for maximum integration, but we are afraid and don't want to talk about this. All of our people today favor integration and inclusion into the Russian Federation," Bibilov said on South Ossetian state radio.

Three of the four South Ossetian parliamentary parties, i.e. United Ossetia, People's Unity and Nykhas, favor South Ossetia's inclusion into Russia, while the Popular Party prefers South Ossetia's independence, he said.

"We should hear what the people say. Our party has won a parliamentary majority, the people have placed confidence in us, and we should keep our promises," Bibilov said.

He said he wanted stability in the political environment and in society and will do all he can to promote it.

"I absolutely rule out a conflict between the executive and legislative branch. This is unacceptable. We should respect each other for the sake of our state's interests and the people who trust us. And we shouldn't divide our people into supporters of integration and those who hold a different view," he said.
