Russian, Ukrainian generals in contact over Debaltseve situation - Kelin

MOSCOW. Feb 13 (Interfax) - The general staff of the Russian and Ukrainian armed forces are in consultations over the situation in Debaltseve, and might ask the Organization for Security and Cooperation (OSCE) to create humanitarian corridors into order to remove Ukrainian troops from the besieged area, Russian Ambassador to the OSCE Andrei Kelin said.

"This is a place where fighting is under way. So far the discussion and analysis of the situation are going according to the Russian and Ukrainian general staff. The military must make a conclusion about the specific situation," Kelin said on the Rossiya-24 television channel.

"They need to plan the steps: if the situation there is one of encirclement, the troops need to be removed from there. And I think, the OSCE is most likely to be invited to create such humanitarian corridors," Kelin said.
