'Active phase' of counter-terror drills under way in Amur region

KHABAROVSK. March 13 (Interfax-AVN) - The 'active phase' of large-scale drills aimed at clearing up the aftermath of a simulated terrorist attack on the Bureya hydroelectric power plant is taking place in Russia's Amur region on Friday, Eastern Military District spokesman Alexander Gordeyev told Interfax-AVN.

"The exercises involve 1,500 servicemen and more than 400 units of military and special-purpose hardware," he said.
