Zvezda TV channel confirms its reporter injured in eastern Ukraine

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Russia's Zvezda television station has confirmed that its reporter Andrei Lunyov was seriously injured in an explosion near the village of Shyrokine in the south-east of Ukraine.

"Zvezda TV channel reporter Andrei Lunyov was hurt in a trip wire explosion in the village of Shyrokine. He sustained serious injuries" to his head and legs, the TV station said on its website on Tuesday.

The journalist was not wearing a bullet-proof vest at the time of the incident.
