Future of self-proclaimed Donetsk, Luhansk republics depends on Kyiv's flexibility, wisdom - Putin

MOSCOW. April 16 (Interfax) - The future of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics (DPR and LPR) will depend in large part on the Ukrainian leadership's political wisdom, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"In the final analysis, the final word as to who wants to live with whom and on what terms should rest with the people living in those territories," Putin said during a Q&A session on Thursday.

"This will depend in large part on the Kyiv leadership's flexibility and political wisdom," he said.

"Amid the implementation of the Minsk agreements, it is necessary to find some elements of restoring some common political field with Ukraine," he said.
