NSD's Eddie Astanin nominated to represent Russia on SWIFT board

MOSCOW. April 17 (Interfax) - The members of the Rosswift association voted at a general meeting to nominate National Settlement Depository CEO Eddie Astanin to the board of directors of SWIFT, the international financial messaging system, to represent Russian financial institutions, the NSD said in a press release.

A representative of Russia will be joining the SWIFT board for the first time.

The SWIFT board has 25 directors representing countries with the largest volume of SWIFT traffic. The board is elected for a term of three years at the general meeting of SWIFT members.

The general meeting at which the new board will be elected will be held on June 11 in La Hulpe, Belgium.
