Direct talks between DPR, Kyiv impossible in principle - Purgin

DONETSK. April 30 (Interfax) - Self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) People's Council Chairman Andrei Purgin believes that direct negotiations between Kyiv and DPR leaders are totally impossible.

"Direct negotiations between the warring sides are impossible in principle; and dialogue can be conducted only via intermediaries. Otherwise, we will walk into the room and shoot each other, that will be the end of the negotiations," Purgin told Interfax.

"Working groups are being formed to support the settlement of the conflict, and we are welcoming that," he said.
