Kyiv tried to exacerbate situation in Donbas prior to G7 summit - Lavrov

MOSCOW. June 8 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov believes Kyiv deliberately exacerbated the situation in Donbas before the G7 summit.

"The loud, aggressive and militant rhetoric is coming from Kyiv, such as they will not talk with Donetsk and Luhansk and they will not lift the economic blockade until the administration changes in Donbas. It directly contradicts the Minsk agreements," he told a press conference, responding to a question from Interfax.

"Here we see a connection with the summit of the so-called G7 that is taking place now. Probably they wanted to exacerbate the situation before this summit, bearing in mind that members of the G7 said the sanctions against Russia will stay in place until Russia fulfils the Minsk agreements," the Russian minister said.
