Russian electricity strategy projects power generation to rise 36% by 2035

MOSCOW. June 24 (Interfax) - The Russian Energy Ministry forecasts that electricity production will rise 36% to 1.4 trillion kilowatt-hours (kWh) by 2035, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said during government hour in the Federation Council.

The projections are contained in Russia's electricity strategy to 2035.

Capacity at thermal power plants is slated to rise 18% to 699 Gcal. Design capacity at power plants will rise 20% as the result of replacing one-third of existing capacity.
