Moscow to insist on OSCE response to Kyiv's actions towards Russian journalists

MOSCOW. July 2 (Interfax) - Konstantin Dolgov, Russian Foreign Ministry Special Representative for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law, has called "categorically inadmissible" the standpoint of OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatovic who said she was watching the situation of Russia's Channel One journalist Alexandra Cherepnina deported from Ukraine.

In his tweet, Dolgov described the position of the OSCE representative as "evasion of duty." "Mijatovic should make a prompt and firm demarche against Kyiv," Dolgov underlined.

"This predisposed viewpoint of the international official is categorically inadmissible," he said. "We will insist on an adequate response of the OSCE to the restriction of the media in Ukraine," the ministry representative said.

Ukrainian Security Service officers took Channel One journalist Cherepnina from her apartment in Kyiv to the airport and deported her to Russia on Wednesday.
