SCO leaders convene narrow-format meeting in Ufa
UFA. July 10 (Interfax) - Leaders of SCO member countries have convened a meeting of the Council of SCO Chiefs of State in Ufa.
The Council is meeting in a narrow format; an expanded meeting involving delegation members will be held later and joint documents will be signed.
"We are pleased to welcome leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to Ufa. Today we are set to sum up results of the SCO performance," Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his opening remarks at the meeting.
In addition, Putin offered summit delegates to discuss future collaboration in the organization and "to exchange opinions on pressing international and regional affairs."
After the opening remarks of the Russian president the meeting continued behind closed doors.
