Russian population up slightly in 5M - Rosstat
MOSCOW. July 17 (Interfax) - Russia's population was an estimated 146.3 million on June 1, 2015, the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) said.
The population grew by 13,700. Natural population decrease was 65,800, compared to 34,600 a year previously.
Natural population growth was recorded in 31 regions, compared with 34 in the same period of last year.
The number of births in 5M 2015 fell to 761,000, from 777,700 a year previously. The number of deaths grew to 826,800 from 82,300.
The number of births fell in 66 regions and the number of deaths grew in 63 regions.
The number of deaths exceeded the number of births by 8.6% in 5M 2015 (4.5% in 5M 2014) in the country a as a whole and by 50%-80% in 18 regions.
Net migration was 79,500 in 5M 2015, down from 93,700 in 5M 2014.
