Naryshkin urges OSCE PA to immediately convene Inter-Parliamentary Contact Group for Ukraine
ULAANBAATAR. Sept 16 (Interfax) - State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin has called on OSCE Parliamentary Assembly members to focus on the Ukraine crisis resolution at negotiations and to immediately hold a meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Contact Group.
"I am asking Assembly members to focus on the following practical tasks in the field of security. Firstly, on resolving the Ukraine crisis at negotiations and on immediately convening a meeting of our Inter-Parliamentary Group," Naryshkin said at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly session in Ulaanbaatar.
OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President Ilkka Kanerva said it was common knowledge that parliamentary diplomacy possessed methods and advantages allowing it to promote the peaceful settlement of that conflict.
The search for opportunities and platforms to discuss peaceful ways of resolving the Ukraine crisis is underway, he said.
