Russia to be represented appropriately at climate change conference in Paris - Peskov

MOSCOW. Oct 13 (Interfax) - Russia will be represented at the 21st UN Climate Change Conference to take place in Paris on November 30 to December 11 at a proper level, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"As concerns the conference in France, the president has already said himself to his French counterparts that Russia will be represented at a proper level," Peskov told journalists on Tuesday when asked whether the Russian leader planned to attend the event.

French Ambassador to Russia Jean-Maurice Ripert had said earlier on Tuesday that Putin was welcome at the conference in Paris.

"We consider Russia's participation as vitally important for success of the climate conference to take place in Paris," Ripert said at a reception at his Moscow residence on Tuesday.

"We hope Russian President Vladimir Putin will accept President Francois Hollande's invitation to attend the conference that will be held in Paris at the end of the year," he said.
