Cuba to get 1.2 bln euro loan from Russia to build power stations - Rogozin

MOSCOW. Oct 22 (Interfax) - The state export loan for Cuba to build four thermal-power plants will be over 1.2 billion euro, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told reporters on Thursday.

"Over the past 25 years, we have not yet made such injections in the Cuban economy. This is a loan of over one billion euro," Rogozin said, adding that a more accurate figure is "1.2 billion euro."

The repayment scheme being "clear and steady," Russia went ahead with these agreements, realizing the whole economics of this process and being absolutely certain that Cuba is working absolutely assuredly on all financial means the Russian Federation has allocated, Rogozin said.

"Cubans are the people one can do business with even in such big projects," he said.
