DPR says does not intend to violate weaponry withdrawal agreement despite shelling
DONETSK. Nov 7 (Interfax) - The authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) do not intend to bring the military hardware back to the positions due to the shelling of Donetsk, senior official of the DPR Defense Ministry Eduard Basurin said.
"We do not consider an option of bringing the hardware back to our positions. This shelling confirms the fact that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have units which do not want peace and are provoking us. But we should have the strong spirit and do not yield to provocations," Basurin told reporters on Saturday.
He also expressed hope that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) would report the Donetsk shelling incident. "I hope that they will note this fact in their report. They have filmed it and found that a shell exploded into three parts. We have sent a letter to the OSCE and the Ukrainian side asking to conduct an investigation," Basurin said.
He also said that four violations of the ceasefire regime by Ukraine have been reported in the DPR over the past day.
"Today in the morning the direct hit of a rocket projectile seriously damaged a three-storey house, the projectile hit a child room. Fortunately, no fatalities sustained," Basurin said.
Meanwhile, a Grad rocket projectile, which has stuck in a house in central Donetsk, was taken away and unarmed, the press service of the DPR Ministry of Emergency Situations told Interfax.
