Accusations of opening second anti-doping lab in Russia groundless - RUSADA director
MOSCOW. Nov 10 (Interfax) - The Moscow anti-doping laboratory is unique, and it is impossible to open another one, Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) Executive Director Nikita Kamayev has told reporters.
"Doping control personnel realize that the laboratory does not have technical analogues in the world because there is no comparison of standards and methods with any type of analytical activity in the world, either with toxicology chemistry or with court practice. This is an absolutely rare and special kind of activity. The creation and operation of such a laboratory is a huge, complex and expensive project. The existence of a second laboratory is technologically impossible," Kamayev said.
He called "absurdity and conspiracy theory" the information that law enforcement agencies had an influence on the activity of Russian anti-doping services.
"I am not even willing to comment on this," Kamayev said.
