Russia not banning manufactured goods from Turkey yet, but Industry Ministry to prepare relevant proposals - Shuvalov
GORKI. Nov 30 (Interfax) - Russia will not introduce a ban on manufactured goods from Turkey yet, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said during a meeting with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and deputy prime ministers on Monday.
"For the manufactured products, the proposal is such: for now restrictive measures are not included for manufactured products," he said.
Shuvalov said that the government will monitor the validity of the sanctions regime and if needed, it will expand the list of manufactured goods. "We will see how all these regimes are now, the large part of which will start working starting on January 1, how all of this begins to act. And if needed, the government can always expand this list for both agricultural products and manufactured goods," he said.
"For manufactured goods we attentively studied the entire export map of the Turkish Republic. For manufactured objects and goods, one cannot say that they are as strongly connected with the Russian market. Therefore, now, in this period of time we should refrain from these decisions at this stage," the first deputy prime minister said.
Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich added that the Industry Ministry has been ordered to develop a list of restrictions for a number of manufactured goods.
"For manufactured products we really are suggesting not to implement restrictions now. Nevertheless, the Industry Ministry has been given the order to make a possible list of restrictions, which if needed may be implemented," Dvorikovich said.
