Dutch PM to discuss economic cooperation, nuclear security with Kazakh President Nazarbayev in Astana
ASTANA. Dec 1 (Interfax) - Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte is to arrive in Astana for an official visit on December 2, the Dutch embassy in Kazakhstan said in a statement.
"The aim of the visit is to further strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between the Netherlands and Kazakhstan," the statement says.
The program of the visit includes Rutte's meeting with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Prime Minister Karim Masimov, Chairman of the Kazakh Senate (the upper house of the parliament) Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, and Chairman of the Majilis (the lower house) Kabibulla Dzhakupov.
Rutte plans to discuss the status of bilateral economic relations, nuclear security, regional developments and the reform plan '100 concrete steps' with the Kazakh leadership.
The Dutch prime minister will also make a statement confirming the Netherlands' participation in EXPO 2017, to be followed by the signing ceremony of the participation document.
The Dutch prime minister is to be escorted by a business delegation including representatives of seven major Dutch companies successfully represented in Kazakhstan.
"To deepen cooperation in the strategically important sector of agriculture, Netherlands Prime Minister will hand over to the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan the invitation for 10 Kazakhstani professionals and managers in agriculture to visit the Netherlands for a study tour," the document says.
