Defense Ministry produces video evidence of oil trucks moving across Syrian-Turkish border

MOSCOW. Dec 2 (Interfax) - The Russian Armed Forces General Staff has published video materials, which demonstrate the oil product delivery to Turkey from the Syrian territory controlled by illegal gangs.

"On the photograph taken on November 13 near the Azas settlement on the highway connecting Turkey and Syria the congestion of trucks supplying oil products can be clearly seen," Deputy Chief of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff Dmitry Rudskoy said.

As many as 240 oil trucks and heavy-duty trucks are seen on the photograph on the Turkish side, 46 oil trucks and trailer trucks are waiting for crossing the border on the Syrian territory, he said. Meanwhile, "it is known that some oil trucks are disguised as trailer trucks," Rudskoy said.

The similar situation is observed near the Reihanly, he said. "Despite combat actions, which are being waged in the outskirts of Aleppo, the nonstop flow of vehicles in both directions is seen, a large number of vehicles are staying on the Turkish territory," the General Staff deputy chief said.

"The video demonstrates illustratively that the truck vans are crossing the border without any obstacles," he said. "At this place the border from the Syrian side is under control of gangs of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization, which freely permit tankers and heavy-duty trailer trucks, which are loaded with oil tanks, to go the Turkish territory," Rudskoy said.

Meanwhile, he said that "these vehicles are also not examined on the Turkish side of the border and there are hundreds of such vehicles there."

The photograph taken near Reihanly on November 16 shows more than 360 oil trucks and heavy-duty trucks in the immediate vicinity from the Syrian border, the General Staff deputy chief said.
