Power flow from Ukraine to Crimea has resumed - Russian Energy Ministry
MOSCOW. Dec 8 (Interfax) - Ukraine has restored power flow to Crimea, the Russian Energy Ministry said in a statement.
Power is being supplied along the 220-kilovolt Kakhovskaya - Titan - Krasnoperekopsk transmission line, with a maximum flow capacity of approximately 160 MW.
Supplies came to a complete halt on November 22 when several pylons were blown up. Electricity was supplied via four lines: three 330 kV and one 220 kV line.
Power flow capacity to Crimea from the southern Russian energy system is 200-260 MW.
Earlier Crimea was almost completely dependent on power supplies from Ukraine. The average needs of the peninsula amount to 1,000 MW. After the halt of supplies from Ukraine, mobile installations and diesel generators were sent to Crimea. The first line of the energy bridge for supplies from the south of Russia was launched at the beginning of December.
The problem of the region's energy dependence on Ukraine will be fully resolved with the launch of all lines of the energy bridge and the construction of new generation in Crimea.
