Ukrainian army takes over seven villages in Donbas buffer zone during ceasefire, capable of other provocations - Russian envoy to OSCE
MOSCOW. Dec 15 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian army may plan massive operations in the absence of progress on the political track, Russian Permanent Representative to the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich said.
In his words, the OSCE arrived at that conclusion after the Ukrainian army had taken over seven villages in the buffer zone - the security area along the contact line in Ukraine. "The Ukrainian authorities conducted a sweep in one of the villages and arrested 85 activists supporting the DPR," he said.
"This is a very dangerous syndrome which may suggest that the Ukrainian army is capable of planning more massive operations and provocations in the absence of progress on the political track," he said in a program aired by the Rossiya-24 television channel.
"We have pointed to [the existence of] this very dangerous trend against the background of the stalling political process in the fulfillment of the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements," Lukashevich said.
