Work on list of terrorist organizations in Syria to continue - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Dec 16 (Interfax) - The International Syria Support Group will convene a meeting of foreign ministers in New York on Friday to carry on the work on a single list of terrorist organizations, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said after negotiations between U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"This work [the drawing up of a list of terrorist organizations] goes on. It is already clear that ISIL and Jabhat al-Nusra [outlawed in Russia] are recognized by everyone as terrorist organizations with which negotiations will not be conducted and which will not be part of the ceasefire when the political process begins, when relevant conditions ripen," the Russian foreign minister said.

"There are a number of other organizations about which other members of the Vienna group have been positive, i.e. recognized them as terrorist, but it is necessary to continue coordination of the rest of the list when we gather next time, hopefully this Friday in New York," he said.
