One Ukrainian serviceman killed, another injured near Horlivka in Donbas - Kyiv
KYIV. Jan 11 (Interfax) - One Ukrainian serviceman has been killed in Donbas over the past day, Ukrainian Presidential Administration spokesman for military matters Andriy Lysenko has said.
He said the incident occurred on the outskirts of Horlivka in the Donetsk region.
"One Ukrainian serviceman has been killed and another has suffered injuries over the past day. This happened in the attack on Zaytseve, north of Horlivka," Lysenko said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Monday.
The enemy continues to use heavy armaments in the Donetsk sector, he said. "Our positions near Troitske were shelled by a tank. Additionally, the militants used grenade launchers south of Leninske," Lysenko said.
Snipers fired on Ukrainian army positions in the Donetsk airport area, near the village of Opytne in the Yasynuvata district and Avdiivka in the Donetsk region, the spokesman said.
In the Mariupol area, the truce was breached in Starohnativka and Shyrokyne in the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk region. "ATO forces returned fire in Shyrokyne," Lysenko said.
The ceasefire was honored in the Luhansk sector, he said.
