Bishkek sees relocation of redundant production facilities from China to Kyrgyzstan as promising cooperation area

BISHKEK. Jan 12 (Interfax) - Construction of roads and relocation of redundant production facilities from China to Kyrgyzstan are the most promising areas of bilateral cooperation, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Temir Sariyev told Chinese Ambassador to Bishkek Qi Dayu at a meeting.

"This is the question of building a China-Kyrgyzstan rail line, the second area is Chinese investment in building a ring road around Lake Issyk-Kul, and the third one is the relocation of redundant production facilities from China to Kyrgyzstan," Sariyev said, discussing cooperation prospects.

According to the Kyrgyz prime minister, the Kyrgyz Economy Ministry was instructed after his visit to China in December of last Year "to promptly supply the Chinese side with a list of production facilities needed by Kyrgyzstan and relevant economic estimates," a representative of the government press service told Interfax on Tuesday.

"The Chinese side will do its best and assist in the fulfillment of these plans," the Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan said.

"China is interested in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and in the implementation of projects proposed by the Kyrgyz side. On the whole, we plan to be more active in expanding cooperation between our countries in a variety of spheres which meet the interests of the two countries," the Chinese diplomat said.
