First segment of Vostochny spaceport costs approx. 120 bln rubles - Roscosmos

TSIOLKOVSKY (Amur region). Jan 20 (Interfax-AVN) - The first segment of the Vostochny spaceport will cost almost 120 billion rubles, Roscosmos State Corporation General Director Igor Komarov said on Wednesday.

"The first segment costs approximately 120 billion rubles. The work on the minimal launch facilities is practically over. We are planning, and have reassigned for 2016, under a government order, 9 billion rubles for the remaining facilities, in addition to the minimal launch facilities, which must be ready in 2016," he told reporters.

An estimate of the Vostochny second segment, which includes the construction of a launch pad for the Angara rocket, will be included in the new federal spaceport development program, which is planned to be approved in summer 2016, Komarov said.
