International terrorism remains on list of Russia's main security threats - Gerasimov
MOSCOW. Jan 22 (Interfax) - Threats to military security, the biggest ones of which are international terrorism and the desire by certain states to take hold of other countries' natural resources, continue to increase, Russia's First Deputy Defense Minister and General Staff chief Valery Gerasimov said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 (VGTRK) television channel.
He also said that in using the anti-Russian rhetoric the United States and NATO countries continue to increase their armed forces' presence in Europe.
"They are deploying a missile shield, creating rapid response forces because of some imaginary Russian military threat," Gerasimov said.
"Of course, all this does not to stability in matters of security," he said.
