Avtovaz sales in Russia plummet 11% in January
MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - Avtovaz saw sales in Russia fall 11% year-on-year in January 2016 to 15,577 automobiles, the Automobile Manufacturers Committee of the Association of European Businesses (AEB) said.
The Lada Granta remained the Russian sales leader with 19% of the market, up from 15.1% a year previously, although volumes declined 4.65% year-on-year to 7,377 units in January.
Sales of the Lada Vesta, which did not commence until November, came to 1,643 in January. This was the ninth best selling vehicle in Russia.
The Lada Largus was the eighth best selling car Russia in January, with 2,065 of the cars sold, down 8.5% year-on-year.
The Lada 4x4 came tenth with 1,609, down 45.4%, Lada Priora was 13th with 1,386, down 30.35% and Lada Kalina was 18th with 1,140 sold, down 54.9%.
Avtovaz sold 269,096 Lada cars in 2015, down 30.5% from 2014.
