Tochka-U battalions destroy mock enemy's command post, airfield in surprise check

MOSCOW. Feb 12 (Interfax-AVN) - Tochka-U tactical complexes, that were deployed and on route to battle formation, hit a command post and an airfield of an imaginary enemy, with upgraded missiles in a surprise operation readiness check, spokesman for Russia's Central Military District Yaroslav Roshchupkin told Interfax-AVN.

"Yesterday, a missile brigade from the Central Military District, deployed in the Sverdlovsk region, was put on alert, and marched to the launch area, from which it conducted single and group electronic launches on targets detected by reconnaissance parties in foothills of the Nether-Polar Urals, at a distance of more than 120 kilometers. Missile combat crews also drilled changing positions, reloading missiles, and restoring combat readiness after launches," Roshchupkin said.

The missile brigade that was involved in the check will get new Iskander-M tactical complexes units by the year's end, in line with the state defense order, he said.
