Nord Stream 2 to be completed on time - Miller

MUNICH. Feb 13 (Interfax) - Gazprom [MOEX: GAZP] chief Alexei Miller has confirmed the Nord Stream 2 project will be completed on time, before 2019, despite the delay in tenders.

"We are now getting ready to conduct tenders for buying pipes, the competition for pipe-laying will be conducted in September, and the pipe-laying work will begin at the beginning of 2018," Miller told reporters in Munich.

This project is exactly the same as Nord Stream 1, he said. "So there is no problem with design, and most importantly, this project goes through the same corridor as the Nord Stream 1 does, so we have got all the research to date," the Gazprom chief said.

He added: "This is why we have no doubt that the Nord Stream 2 project will be implemented strictly to schedule before the end of 2019."
