Turkey informed Russia about introduction of journalistic visas for Russian journalists - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - The Turkish authorities have officially notified Russia of the introduction from February 15 of visas for Russian journalists who intend to visit Turkey, the Russian Foreign Ministry has reported.

"Turkey officially notified the Russian Foreign Ministry about the introduction on the basis of the principle of mutuality from February 15, 2016 of 'a journalistic visa' for all representatives of the Russian press who intend to visit Turkey for the purpose of journalistic activities, including for a short period of time of less than six months," the ministry said in a commentary posted on its website.

"We are again pointing out this new practice to representatives of the Russian mass media and we are operating on the assumption that they will take this circumstance into account when they send their employees to Turkey," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
