Ukraine's antimonopoly committee notifies Gazprom for $3.2 bln fine

KYIV. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Antimonopoly Committee on February 12 sent Gazprom its decision on a fine in the amount of 85.966 billion hryvnia ($3,2 bln), the Ukrainian agency said in a press release on Thursday.
"On February 12, 2016 the committee sent its decision to the parties of the deal: JSC Gazprom as the respondent, Naftogaz Ukrainy as the third party. JSC Gazprom, which was fined at the decision of Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee, should pay it in two months' time starting from the receipt of the decision to fine it. The respondent, the third party have a right to appeal the antimonopoly committee's decision fully or partially at a commercial court in a two-month period from the day of receiving the decision. This timeframe cannot be renewed," the statement said.
The Ukrainian antimonopoly committee fined Gazprom on January 22 for abusing its monopoly position in transit through Ukraine for 85.966 ($3.2 bln) billion hryvnia.
Gazprom said that the antimonopoly committee has no authority to regulate transit through Ukraine.
